Dr. Sehnem completed his medical degree in Brazil, followed by residency training in General Surgery at University of Alto Vale and Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Sao Paulo. From 2010 to 2019, he served as a faculty member at the University of Alto Vale, where he was actively involved in medical education and surgical training. He joined the Cleveland Clinic in 2020. In addition to his clinical focus on endocrine surgery, Dr. Sehnem has a strong interest in surgical education and the management of complex thyroid cancers. His current research focuses on thyroid and parathyroid diseases, with particular emphasis on improving surgical outcomes and developing new technologies for parathyroid identification.
